FORE Efforts and Funds Flyer
WCCF Project Proposal

FORE members have worked continually to study the UW/MGE WCCF Power
Plant proposal, act in an advocacy role, and make public the facts
and potential impacts of this project on our community and state
taxpayers. Members have conferred with community and environmental
groups. Here is a chronology of events and documentation beginning
with most recent actions.
November 2003
FORE files a lawsuit
October 2003
FORE continues soil and water contamination investigation.
September 2003
FORE's article in the Green
Party newsletter.
FORE addresses site contamination and
agreement misrepresentation.
August 2003
FORE filed its brief
with the Public Service Commission on August 6, 2003. It details
in legal terms serious flaws in MGE's application for its 150-MW
proposal.
July 2003
FORE members presented testimony at the PSC hearings. Testimony
will be available on the site soon.
FORE also distributed a flyer to residents within the 1/2 mile radius
zone. This informed them of the upcoming PSC hearings
on July 21. Notices were also posted to local Listservs.
June 1, 2003
Submit statements and position to the DOA and Joint Finance committee

Apply for, and subsequently receive, Intervenor Funding from the
PSC to study noise impacts.
April 28
Participate in UW sponsored Public Hearing.

Draft and submit responses to the
PSC on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS)
April 26, 2003
Hold a Rally with Sierra Club to protest 150MW Proposal.
April 1, 2003
FORE issued questions to be
answered by the State, UW and MG&E as part of the April re-evaluation
of campus utility plant alternatives. The questions were accompanied
by a cover letter to the Wisconsin
Department of Administration describing our expectations.
April 7
Meet with Sebesta Blomberg consultants, UW, MGE, representatives
to submit questions for review.
March 13
Participate in UW sponsored Public Hearing.
March 12, 2003
Meet with elected representatives to request a hold and reconsideration
of the 150MW project.
March 4, 2003
FORE formally separates from RNA ad hoc status and creates its own
advocacy group.
March - January, 2003
Draft and Update Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Documents for the public.
January 2003
Work on and pass a Regent Neighborhood
Association Board Resolution opposing the current 150MW proposal
as an Ad Hoc committee of the organization.
